Ant Nichols started his DJ career in his hometown of Brighton, playing for a
variety of the cities beach clubs and after parties in the late 90’s. Ant then headed
down to Bournemouth for university in 2000 where he continued to play for local
clubs and for names such as Slinky.
It was here in 2002 Ant’s DJ’ing got him noticed and offered a weekly dance show
covering the South Coast on Saturday nights. Whilst presenting this show, Ant was
noticed by the Galaxy Network, and ended up presenting a variety of local and
network shows from Galaxy’s studios in Leeds.
In 2004, after finishing university, Ant secured a daily drivetime show on the local
Fire 107.6, only to be contacted by Emap Radio in the North West 4 months later,
offering him a daily show on Radio City 96.7, Liverpool and weekends on Key 103,
Manchester. Whilst in the North West Ant continued to work across various clubs in
both cities including some big names such as Cream in Liverpool.
Between 2004 & 2006, Ant spread his scope, both in radio and clubs, to work across
North Wales, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool, before accepting
another job with the Galaxy brand in Newcastle.
It was then in 2006 Kiss were re-branding two of their stations, and Ant was offered
a job in the South West, launching the newly branded Kiss 101, where Ant has been
presenting the Drivetime show for nearly 4 years, with YOY increases of 30%.
Clubwise Ant has residencies in Swansea, Cardiff and Bristol, as well running his own
brand of nights and travelling to London and Brighton for monthly gigs.
Just recently Ant has returned to the studio with his mate
to produce and remix tracks, and regularly goes to
Ibiza to play during the summer. He is also in talks
to play over in America and possibly Asia
Having covered a large area of the UK both through
radio and in clubs, Ant is now hoping to return home
to London and the South East in 2010.
