Saturday
8th April was a new beginning for the Born To Dance
team, and with expectations running high the team
were nervous. With an amazing line up including Michael
Gray & a Live PA from the legend that is Bryan
Chambers, Born to Dance fans from far and wide flocked
in huge numbers towards the zap club, quickly building
a large queue outside the clubs doors.
Kicking off in the main room
was KJ Clancy & A Quest
getting the crowd warmed up for the rising talents
of Born To Dance hero, Gav McCall.
Quick off the mark following the success of his first
solo production (“I’m Alright”),
Gav proved why he is so well loved. Kicking off with
his own re-edit of a Brian Tappert track & a rapturous
applause Gav soon settled into our new home. Taking
the crowd higher & higher, funkier & funkier
before handing the reins over to the one, the only
Bryan Chambers.
2.00am roles on & Bryan Chambers
steps up to showcase his perfectionist live PA set.
With his excellent interpretation of Tom Novy’s
“Your Body” & Cleptomaniacs
“All I Do”, the main room was
jam packed & the roof was starting to come off.
The podiums were full & the party people were
hanging off the balconies with every vocal sung.
Meanwhile up in the arch Dave Bonner
was getting the intimate party started with some groovy,
funky classics building up to the everlasting Alison
Limericks “Where Love Lives”. By 1.00am
the Arch was jumping & in the mood for Carl
Hanaghan's musical antics & Soulsearcher’s
“Feelin Love” was a great hands in the
air moment. Joe Mitchell upped the
pace taking the classics a little deeper & a little
tougher with Dukes monster “So In Love With
You”.
Back downstairs Full Intentions Michael Gray
took to the stage for another amazing crowd roaring
set. Dropping his own re-edit of “The
Weekend” sending the already wild crowd,
even wilder. Dropping the tracks the crowd wanted,
his ability to read them each like a book was an amazing
sight. After a show stopping performance the night
was finally handed back to a surprised Carl
Hanaghan @ 4.45am & there he remained
until we decided the night should go on till 6am due
to the mass of party people refusing to go home.
Born To Dance have moved up to a new, bigger and better venue in style. People will be talking about this party
for some time to come. If you missed it, you definitely
missed out.
Join us on Saturday 10th June for the next instalment
of mischief & mayhem……
