After the hugely popular debut of Born To Dance Presents “Heaven on Earth” at the Ocean rooms in March, a lot was to be expected from its return this month.

Expectation has been heightened by the announcement of this months headlining house aficionado RICHARD F.

Beginning his DJ experience at the tender age of 13 Richard F earned his stripes in his native America, being instrumental in the emerging House scenes of Florida and then Los Angelis. His ability to incorporate Techno and Break beat styling into his DJing gives Richard F the rare ability to DJ and produce music that doesn’t fit into the usually perceptions of what House music is.

Tonight, the recently refurbished Ocean Rooms is once again jammed full of Saturday night partygoers. After witnessing excellent sets from Gavin McCall (MOS Radio, Born to Dance, and Savannah Ibiza), Chris Bailey (Fire 107.6 FM), and one a clock marks Richard F turn to take the decks.

Tonight his set sticks mainly to progressive house territories. With long mixes blending different tones and moods the audience is taken though a diverse choice of records combining progressiveness, funk and a slightly harder edge to the music than might have been expected.

A lack of vocal House is also a pleasant surprise to tonight’s set. Especially for those in attendance who want something a little different to the usual fodder played at House music nights in Brighton. The response from tonight’s revellers is emphatic and there doesn’t seem to be a single person in the building who is not enjoying their Saturday night.

Once again it seems Born to Dance have managed to deliver a party enjoyed by all, from their monthly club night. Roll on July.
