8.30PM on a Saturday night & the coach set sail, onward bound to sunny old Eastbourne… Eastbourne?? Yes, Born To Dance & a coach load of Brighton party heads sped off to take over the brand new super club, The Funktion Rooms for a very special occurrence.

Born To Dance were proudly invited to bring their mad funkiness & ever growing popularity over to show Eastbourne how the Brighton boys & girls do it in style.

The Funktion Rooms is a state of the art venue utilising the world famous, Funktion One system & boy, did we push the limits.

In the Gallery, KJ Clancy & Paul Hillyer kicked proceedings off in fine fashion dropping soulful, bumpin’, funk laced house vibes warming up perfectly for future superstar, Mr Gav McCall. Taking to the decks like a duck to water, Gav’s uplifting house fuelled the crowds & the energy just grew & grew with anticipation of what will be dropped next! On fine form, Gav polished off a perfect set with a new mix of Delerium’s “Silence” & Bionik Phunks “In My Head” (Haji & Emanuel Mix) blowing the crowd away!!
Finally, Funktion resident Carl Hanaghan & Born To Dance’s Dave Bonner finished the night off with some big room, funky house & electro to a very appreciative crowd.

Up in the Lavish Penthouse, the excellent Funktion Resident Rob Clarke warmed up perfectly for Dave Bonner. Dave has become somewhat a master of working crowds who love their classics. With tracks from Alison Limerick, Tori Amos, Barbara Tucker, NightCrawlers, EBTG & Armand Van Helden being dropped, this was a recipe for some serious dancing. Joe Mitchell followed suit with Duke’s “So In Love With You”, Gat Décor “Passion” & Pete Hellers “Big Love” all receiving dance floor pandemonium.

Downstairs in the Sub Club, Carl Hanaghan & Jon Woodhouse both delivered superb funky & deep electro sets surrounding the main star of the night. Paul Emanuel of Haji & Emanuel fame turned up the heat unleashing chunky beasts to the up for it party people.

Another very successful night considering another Bank Hol is just around the corner. Born To Dance a deffinately a name to watch out for!!

Join us on APRIL 14th for our 1ST BIRTHDAY with very special guest IAN CAREY!!!!
